Will Hire, the Stourbridge-area access, plant and tool hire company, has bought two Trime X-ECO lighting towers, the first lighting sets in its fleet, Trime UK announced on 28 October.

The hirer has already prepared the two units for immediate use on large building projects, Trime said. The sets will also go out to festivals and events over the summer months.

The order was Will Hire's first with Trime, and was placed for just two units. Will Gough, of Will Hire, said the manufacturer had been a front-runner for some time, pointing to the Executive Hire Show and to Trime units the firm had rehired from other hire companies.

"We have always had Trime as one of our top options for when we finally invested in our first lighting towers," Gough said.

The order

Gough said the hirer set the supplier a tight deadline for the delivery. "We put the Trime team under a very short time frame to deliver our order, and we were very impressed with the service," he said, adding that the firm looks forward to adding more Trime units to its expanding fleet when the time comes.

According to Trime, the X-ECO is fitted with energy-saving LED lamps and the AMOSS safety system, which automatically lowers the mast if the set is moved while the mast is still erected. In a separate announcement, Trime specified the X-ECO LED with six 160W, 48V multi-directionally adjustable LED floodlights.

The hirer

Will Hire describes itself as a tool and equipment hire company specialising in access equipment, plant and tool hire. Established in 2004, it is a family business based in Lye, in the Stourbridge area of the Midlands.

Its hire range covers construction equipment and power tools, plant and machinery, mobile access towers and powered access, according to the company's website. Alongside construction customers, it also serves the mechanical, electrical and general engineering sectors.

The company runs eight tracked delivery vehicles. Companies House lists Will Hire Limited's registered office as Church Court, Stourbridge Road, Halesowen.

The manufacturer

Trime's production plants are at Cassinetta di Lugagnano, near Milan, and Pavia in Italy, the company said. Trime UK is headquartered in a purpose-built 40,000 sq ft facility at Hinchingbrooke Business Park, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

According to Trime UK, the Huntingdon site has a 20-person training room, six electric vehicle charging points and 48 solar panels estimated to generate 17,000 kWh of electricity a year.

Trime UK exhibited at the 2025 Executive Hire Show at the Coventry Building Society Arena, where it showed its X-ECO LITHIUM HYBRID tower light. Paul Hay of Trime UK said the company met many existing clients and a number of new ones at the two-day show.

Will Hire's two X-ECO sets are now available for hire, with the units scheduled to work festivals and events through the summer season.
